Australian Institute of Management - Celebrating 65 years

White Papers

We are told by Australian managers that they are constantly striving to keep up to date with current management and leadership theory and practice, while also trying to anticipate future trends and market shifts.

As Australia's largest professional body for managers, AIM helps managers do both. The Institute enhances the strategic agility of this country's managers by promoting, practising, supporting and developing management excellence at all levels.

AIM is committed to producing a range of publications and white papers in leadership, management development, innovation, learning in the workplace, strategy and human capital by commissioning major research, facilitating think-tanks and developing measurement indexes.

Through research and publications AIM gives voice to the interests of managers in business, industry and government in Australia.

Managing the Future Series

AIM undertook a comprehensive national study in September and October 2006 to determine the factors that influence an employee's decision to leave or stay with a company, the average length of service, and if employee engagement is influenced by company, individual or management related issues. Nearly 3000 people partipated in the survey, which is the second in a series of AIM Managing the Future Series. The results of the survey have lead to the development of this Whitepaper on How Engaged are Your Employees at Work.

Centre for Rural/Remote Leadership

The sustained viability of Australia’s regional, rural and remote communities is at risk if this country cannot grow and develop local leaders. AIM proposes to work in partnership with existing regional development agencies across the country in order to establish a 'gateway' to provide physical or virtual leadership development opportunities for professional and community leaders in regional, rural and remote areas across Australia.
